The chimney on this house had begun to pull away. The homeowners were worried that it might eventually lean enough to cause it to fall over - and they were right. We installed two piers on either side of the chimney in order to lift it and make it stop retracting from the home.
Brannon H. of Camden, SC wanted to preserve his front porch but the only problem was that it was cracking and sinking further into the ground causing tripping hazards. After hearing about Cantey Foundation Specialists through friends and neighbors, he called Cantey for a free estimate, hoping that we could save his porch from further settlement. System Design Specialist Eddie Mathis diagnosed the problem and recommended seven of our galvanized Helical Piers and also our patented PolyLevel process. Production Foreman TJ Harden injected the polyuerthane substance under the porch, while Production Foreman Ryan Shirley installed the seven Helical Piers around the perimeter of the porch to stabilize the structure. By combining two of our best products together, Cantey was able to ensure that Brennan's porch will never settle again!
Before and After in Camden, SC
Tonie S. moved to Camden, SC about 20 years ago to be closer to her family. She knew that she would miss Ohio, however, she wanted to be able to spend time with her grandchildren as they grew up. She bought a larger house in the area to always have room for the family to come to visit. Throughout the years, she has not had many repairs done to her home. That is until she started having issues with the floors downstairs. The kitchen and hallway floors seemed to start sagging but Tonie had no idea who to call. She saw a truck in town on her way to get groceries that said Cantey Foundation Specialists. Tonie called in to see if her sagging floor was something they could help with. She was pleased to hear that Cantey would send someone out to do a free inspection. System Design Specialist Jamie Beresford came out and did a thorough inspection of the crawl space. Jamie found that Tonie needed extra support for her floors because of settlement. He explained that the system would start with holes that would be filled with engineered gravel. This would be a solid base that would not sink over time like soil. Then a metal plate would be installed on top of the gravel and a metal beam would be installed over the existing wooden beams. A SmartJack would then be secured to the top beam and the bottom plate. Once the SmartJack is level, it is then adjusted to create the lift that the floor above needs. Tonie wanted her floors repaired and believed in the solution Jamie had laid out. Production Crew Leader Jonathan Lowder, Production Crew Member David Herbert, and Production Crew Member Dillion Price came out and effectively installed the SmartJack system. Tonie now has level floors and praises Cantey all over town.
Peggy and James J. have lived in Camden, SC all their lives and have owned their home there for many years. It is the home they will pass along to their children and where they plan to stay. There are not many aspects of the home that ever bothered Peggy except for the floor in the master bathroom. The floor just seemed to keep sinking until there was a large gap between the floor and the baseboard. This gap bothered her until she finally decided to call Cantey Foundation Specialists and schedule an inspection. Cantey is a company located in her hometown and she trusted that they would give her an honest scope of the work that needed to be done. System Design Specialist Kory Sanders arrived for the appointment and did a thorough inspection of the crawl space. Afterward, he sat down with Peggy and James to discuss a plan he had drawn up. Cantey's SmartJack system would provide the extra support needed to lift and stabilize the floor of the bathroom. Peggy and James believed in this solution and wanted it done quickly. Production Crew Leader Aubrey McJunkin, Production Crew Member Francisco Lopez, and Production Crew Member Phillip Sullivan came out and effectively installed the SmartJack system. Peggy and James no longer have that pesky gap in their bathroom and they have since referred several of their friends to Cantey.
