Carl I. of Irmo, SC called Cantey Foundation Specialists because he had sloping floors, an unlevel driveway, and problems opening and closing his doors. System Design Specialist James Davis explained to Carl that these problems were caused by unstable foundation and concrete slabs. Cantey was able to find the solution to Carl's problems!

Digging SmartJack Holes

Production Crew Foreman Matt Garcia and Crew Member Dallas begin digging 2ft deep holes, that will later be filled with gravel to ensure that settlement will not longer be a problem once the SmartJacks are installed.

Old Crawlspace Jacks

These old crawlspace jacks which were probably bought at a local hardware store are not a permanent solution to Carl's problems. These jacks are prone to rust and deterioration, and they also can not support the full weight of the house. The cinder block holding the jack up is actually settling further into the soil, which causes the problems to come back.
