Stabilization through SmartJacks and Push Piers in Newberry, SC
Challenge
Debbie H. of Newberry, SC had numerous issues throughout her home including sticking doors, interior and exterior cracks in the walls, and also sagging floors. After hearing Cantey's commercial on the radio, she decided she was tired of living with these problems and called Cantey Foundation Specialists for her free estimate. System Design Specialist Travis Burr inspected her home inside and out, and he found a few disheartening problems. First, the sticking doors and sagging floors throughout her living room and kitchen were settling problems within her crawl space; numerous of her support posts had crumbled or deteriorated after years of moisture exposure. Secondly, the exterior cracks appeared in two particular corners, which meant that the home was settling into the soil in those areas. Although this was devastating news, Cantey Foundation Specialists had the correct solution to help Debbie with her problems!
Solution
The Production Crew led by Foreman Ryan Shirley installed the perfect solution for Debbie's home: three SmartJacks with new supplemental beam in the crawl space, and five stabilizing piers pushed on the exterior parts of the home. Production Crew Member Justin Wheeler calculated the correct lift needed by using the laser equipment as Foreman Ryan Shirley pushed the piers many feet below the surface to more stable soil. When the piers reach the best soil, it will begin to lift the home back into place closing any cracks. Not only was Debbie's home stabilized for many years to come, but Cantey was able to fix the aesthetics of the home as well such as the sloping floors, cracks, and doors!
