Push Piers & Drainage System Help Columbia Home After Flood
Challenge
During last October's historical flood, Ronald and Catherine A. never thought they would have water issues in their Columbia, SC home. However, because the torrential rain was continuously heavy, their home began to flood into the crawl space and around the perimeter. Worried that the flood had permanently damaged their home, Ronald called Cantey Foundation Specialists for a free estimate. Cantey's System Design Specialist Eddie Mathis arrived at their home and inspected the whole property. Unfortunately, the damage had already been done; the home's foundation had been compromised and drainage issues kept reoccurring.
Solution
Cantey sent in Production Crew Foreman Sixto Lopez and his crew to fix Ronald and Catherine's foundation problems. Foreman Sixto Lopez attached heavy duty brackets to the foundation footers, and then pushed nine piers beneath the home until it found steady soil. To ensure that further water damage would not happen to the exterior of the home, the Production Crew then installed a french drain along the one side of the home with the most drainage issues. Now, Ronald and Catherine A. of Columbia do not have to worry about their home settling into the soil or having future drainage issues!
