Helical Piers Bring New Father and Mother Peace of Mind
Challenge
Nick and Jenna Newson just had their first baby, Stephanie. She was born at 1am on the 4th of November and got to go home with her new mother and father on the 6th. When Nick and Jenna got home, they were so relieved and excited to be back at the house and get some alone time with the baby. The next morning, Nick was outside waiting for his truck to warm up and noticed that the cracks in the side of his home had gotten worse since the last time he noticed them. He immediately began to worry about the new baby, as all new dads do. Later in the day, Jenna and himself did some online research on what the cracks could be caused by and wanted to know what they had to do to fix it. Nick worked construction, but realized he did not have to tools or manpower to fix his sinking foundation.
Solution
Nick and Jenna came across Cantey in their research for companies who could help fix their foundation. They gave us a call and talked to one of our system design specialists, Chip Baxter, about their foundation problem and arranged a free estimate appointment with Cantey for the following week. Chip came out to their house and realized that the back right corner and right side of the house (where the baby's room was), was sinking into the soil. It was an addition to the original house so the slab for it was poured separately, but it was not connected to the original slab. Chip recommended our helical pier system that would lift the slab back in place, and keep it there. Cantey knew this was a sensitive situation since the baby was just born and Jenna was worried about the family after all the research they had done. So a crew was sent back out two weeks later, and provided permanent stabilization of the sinking side of the house. Jenna and Nick are now enjoying their new parenting life not having to worry about their home anymore.
