Molded Joist Replaced in Salem, SC

Challenge

Bobby W. is a homeowner in Salem, SC was trying to sell his house. The only issue is that his home's crawl space was in a massive amount of disrepair. Because Bobby's crawl space was poorly ventilated, mold had developed on every floor joist and in thick layers. The damage was so bad that the floor boards were falling apart on contact with mere touches from hands, feet, and anything else you could use to examine the structural integrity of joists with. Bobby knew that he couldn't sell the house as is and decided that he wanted someone to do something about it. After hearing and advertisement for Cantey Foundation Specialists on the radio he decided to give us a call. Specialist John Adams came out to Bobby's home for a free inspection. During the inspection John noticed how terrible the mold problem was. After the inspection John explained to Bobby that his home was is bad shape. The joist was rotten and mold was everywhere. Lucky for Bobby, Cantey was there to help.

Solution

John explained to Bobby that Cantey could solve his problems by replacing the already rotted and moldy wooden floor joists underneath his home. The next step would be to add drain tile and a sump pump in order to filter and pump out the moisture in the crawl space to prevent further damages from mold. The reason mold occurs in crawl spaces is due to the level of moisture that either exist due to poor ventilation or due to the area you live in. Either way to much moisture can lead to very bad things in a crawl space, as was in this case. Production Team Leader Matt, Team Member Jason, and Team Member David were quickly dispatched to Bobby's home to begin working. The job was messy and they had a lot of work to do, but nothing is to much for our #1 team. The team worked efficiently and effectively to finish the project. Afterwards Bobby was so happy that his home's issues were finally solved. "Now I can sell my house knowing that the work that went into it will make this a worthy investment for the next family that moves in", Bobby exclaimed. Bobby was able to sell his home knowing that Cantey did the job right.
