Helical Piers Keep New Family Safe in Blythewood, SC
Challenge
Rick C. just bought a home in Blythewood, SC and is starting a family. His new home in Blythewood is close to the best schools and will be the perfect environment for his little ones. The home was built in the 1970s, therefore it does need some repairs and updates. When Rick began working on the landscaping in the front of the house, he noticed some cracking in the brick at the foundation. This worried him to think that the perfect home he just bought would not be fit for his family. Wanting to keep them safe at all costs, he wanted to know from a professional what he could do. System Design Specialist Richard Early was scheduled for the appointment and after a thorough inspection sat down with Rick. Solution
First, the soil is removed from the area where the helical piers will be installed. Then each pier is drilled into the ground to find competent soil. A heavy-duty bracket is then positioned below the footing after which the weight of the home is transferred through the piers lifting the home back to its original position. Rick really believed in this solution and its ability to be lasting and keep his family safe.
