SmartJacks Lift the Heart of Orangeburg, SC Home
Challenge
Delores R. has owned her home in Orangeburg, SC for many years. It is her home and her families' safe haven. Delores, like most people, has a busy life and the repairs she needed for her home fell by the way side. Delores' favorite room in the house is her kitchen. She calls her kitchen the heart of her home because it is where she enjoys time with her family and cooks for them. Delores' kitchen floor had started to sink around her kitchen island. This started to frighten her because she would never want her family to be in harm's way. She saw a truck with Cantey Foundation Specialists' logo on it and decided it was time to do something about her floor. She called in and had an appointment scheduled with Jamie Beresford for a free, no obligation inspection. Jamie did an inspection of the foundation under Delores' house and determined that the best lasting solution was to install Cantey's patented SmartJack stabilizer.
Solution
The SmartJack stabilizer system is comprised of steel support beams that are used to stabilize the floor joists in a crawl space. Once a hole is made it is then filled with engineer designed crushed stone and a footing is placed on top. A steel beam that is the correct height for the crawl space is then installed and tightened into place creating immediate stabilization and lift. Production Team Leader Isreal Santana and Production Team Member Jonathan Lowder came out to Delores' home and effectively installed the SmartJack system. It lifted the kitchen floor back to the position it was supposed to be and the floor is now stable. Delores is back to entertaining family in her stable kitchen thanks to Cantey's solution.
