Chapin Encapsulation
Judy M. of Chapin, SC is enjoying her new crawl space encapsulation!
Moisture Issues in Crawl Space
Upon inspection, customer Judy's home had apparent drainage and moisture issues in the crawl space. This creates problems such as moldy wood beams, settlement of crawl space support posts, and flooding.
Washed Away
With the many rains that hit the Midlands, Judy's crawl space became flooded time and again because of incorrect grading and insufficient drainage system. The soil eroded away exposing the foundation. This cause numerous problems including settlement of the crawl space piers and the water damage throughout the space.
Wrapped Piers
The CleanSpace System is a complete encapsulation that begins with the laying of a thick vapor barrier. This barrier is brought half way up the walls and wrapped around the crawl space piers. Sealed with a bonding foam and waterproof tape, the vapor barrier keeps water underneath and free flowing away from the home.
Last Step of CleanSpace
One of the last steps during installation of the CleanSpace system is to bring in a dehumidifier and ensure it is working correctly. This provides efficient air flow and low humidity and moisture levels so that the crawl space is clean and dry all year round.
Finished Encapsulation
With its completed system, the CleanSpace has a SumpPump with alarm, drainage system, dehumidifier, vapor barrier, sealed vents, and a customizable easy access door. Judy now has a clean and dry crawl space!
