Johns Island SC: Dodge's Chicken Convenience Store & Eatery Wood-Rot Replacement
Challenge
Owner of Dodge's Chicken Convenience Store & Eatery had started noticing sagging floors around a high traffic area on the sales floor. Realizing the urgency and importance of this hazardous situation, the store owner contacted Cantey Foundation Specialists to evaluate the store's floor and crawl space condition and devise a plan to ensure the safety of it's customers. Upon evaluation, System Design Specialist Ed V. quickly noticed the sub floor and floor joists needed replaced as they were extremely rotted and deemed a safety hazard.
Solution
He worked closely with the project manager and Cantey Crew members to strategically and safely tackle this wood-rot replacement project so that it was possible the convenience store could remain open during construction.
