Front Porch Stabilized in Chapin, SC
Challenge
Michael M. is a home owner in Columbia, SC who bought his home in the 1980s. Over the years living there he started to notice that his front porch was beginning to sink. Even when noticing this, Michael still didn't do anything until 15 years later after he decided to sell the house. After discovering Cantey's Facebook page and great reviews, he decided that the slab has dropped too many inches on both sides to not get it fixed. Michael calls Cantey and sets up a free inspection. Alex Lovette, a Cantey Specialist, inspects the front porch, at which point Michael asks Alex if there is anything that we can do to fix the problem and help him sell this house. Alex then explains Cantey's patented PolyLevel process that would raise the slab and level his porch out making it nice and clean for potential home buyers.
Solution
PolyLevel is a process of injecting a polyurethane in holes drilled in the slab. This is a chemical reaction brought about by combining Iso and Resin. This combination forms a foam like liquid that spreads and hardens in the holes under the slab. The foam flows to the path of least resistance ensuring that voids and crevasses underneath the slab are filled in and covered. Once the PolyLevel is injected it begins to spread and expand which causes the slab to lift due to the force of the expanding foam. This process is done until the slab is level with the foundation of the house or back to its original place, whatever the case may be. In the case of Michael, the PolyLevel was injected into the back portion of the slab causing that side to raise up and leveling out the front in the process. Team Leader Roberto, and Team Member Nick made quick work of the situation and now Michael can sell his house knowing that Cantey did it right.
