Commercial Foundations Photo Album: SmartJacks Make Home Safer for Grandchild in Pickens, SC

Junius S. is a homeowner and father in Pickens, SC who is about to receive the title of grandfather. His only daughter married a few years ago and is expecting his first grandchild. Junius' daughter and son in law are currently renting a home but Junius wanted the absolute best for his grandchild. He decided that he would downsize and give his daughter her childhood home to raise her own child in. Junius wanted to make sure the house was in the perfect condition. He had noticed that the kitchen floor was beginning to slope. While running some errands around town he heard a commercial on the radio for Cantey Foundation Specialists. Junius thought he would call in and see if Cantey could help him with his kitchen floor. He was scheduled for an appointment with System Design Specialist Katherine Dillon. When Specialist Katherine came out and did her inspection, she found that Cantey's SmartJack system would be the lasting solution that Junius needed. She explained that sections of soil would be removed where each SmartJack would be installed and filled with tightly compacted crushed stone. This stone would create a solid foundation for the footing that would be placed on top of it, then a galvanized steel beam, a SmartJack, would be attached to the footing. Each steel beam would be attached to a long beam that would run along the top of the crawl space to give the floor lift. The SmartJacks would then be adjusted to create lift and a stable foundation. Giving Junius a lasting solution for a safer home for his family. Production Team Leader Israel Santana, Production Team Member Jonathan Lowder, and Production Team Member Austin Boan came out and effectively installed the SmartJack system. Junius is now helping his daughter and son in law move in just in time to set up the nursery to await the baby's arrival.
