CleanSpace Makes New Homeowner Feel at Home in Marietta, SC
Challenge
James P. just moved to Marietta, SC a few weeks ago and has been settling into his new home. Moving and starting a new job has taken its toll on him so unpacking has been slow. One Saturday he decided he needed to just take the day to get it all done, to finally feel at home. While unpacking, he started to smell a musty, moldy smell that was coming from the vents. He was worried what this meant for his health and his new home. Not knowing any local companies, he did some searching online to find someone with a solution. James came across Cantey Foundation Specialists website and read about their crawl space encapsulations. The next day he called in to schedule an inspection. System Design Specialist Grant Davis came out and started an inspection on James' crawl space. Grant found that James had a moisture problem which was causing the smell in the vents. There was mold growing all over the crawl space and Grant knew he needed to help James get Cantey's CleanSpace installed to save his home and health.
Solution
Grant explained that the CleanSpace system would start with drainage matting being placed on the floor of the crawl space. Then a thick liner of CleanSpace material would be installed on the floor, walls, and piers of the crawl space for an all-around barrier. The barrier would then be sealed with spray foam adhesive that solidifies the bond between the CleanSpace system and the crawl space. Dwight was confident in Grant's solution and scheduled an installation date. Production Team Leader Jonathan Lowder, Production Team Member David Herbert, and Production Team Member Austin Boan came out and effectively installed the CleanSpace system. James is now all settled into his healthier, safer home thanks to the Cantey team.
