Photo Album: CleanSpace Provides Healthier Air for Home Office in Columbia, SC
Richard W. has lived in his Columbia, SC home for a few years now. It is the first home he has ever owned and has made no plans to move. Since he works on computers from home, he spends most of his time around the house. One of the rooms in his home consists of his office. One day, he dropped one of his tools near his vent and when he bent down to pick it up there was a problem. The tool was fine but the vent had mold growing in it. Richard knew this could not be a good sign and asked his buddy what he thought it might be. His friend told him he probably had moisture in his crawl space causing mold growth. He suggested that Richard call Cantey Foundation Specialists because they did crawl space encapsulations. Richard called and was set up for an appointment with System Design Specialist Jason Hugg. When Jason arrived, he got right to the inspection after speaking with Richard about his concerns as a homeowner. After inspecting, Jason sat down with Richard to show him some pictures of his crawl space and the moisture damage. Jason told Richard that the best solution he could have installed for his home and health would be the CleanSpace system. The CleanSpace system would begin with drainage matting being laid on the bottom of the crawl space. Then a thick liner would cover the floor, piers, and walls of the crawl space. The liner would be secured by a spray foam adhesive that would seal the bond between the CleanSpace system and the crawl space. The CleanSpace would save the crawl space from moisture and provide cleaner, healthier air for Richard. Richard was quick to say that he wanted to install the CleanSpace system and set up a day for the installation. Production Team Leader Trey Dukes, Production Team Member Estevan Lopez, and Production Team Member Brooks Walker came out and successfully installed the CleanSpace system. Thanks to the efforts of Cantey, Richard is free to work from home without the worry of breathing unhealthy air.
Bad Sign from the Start
If the insulation has fallen down in a crawl space, that is a definite sign of moisture damage.
Peeling Back the Layers
After our crew members removed the rest of the insulation, the moisture damage was clear. There was mold growing throughout the crawl space.
Rolling Out the White Carpet
Production Team Member Estevan rolls out the beginning piece of CleanSpace material to begin the encapsulation.
No Cutting Corners
The CleanSpace material is cut to fit around every corner and space in the crawl space in order to be a complete barrier.
