Photo Album: Cantey Teams Up with Meals on Wheels in Camden, SC

Everyone deserves a hot meal and Meals on Wheels in Kershaw County, SC makes sure that senior citizens of our community get just that daily. They serve 75 people throughout our county with hot, fresh meals every day. The menus change weekly giving some variety while making sure eat meal is nutritious. Our Production Team Member David Watson wanted to know what he could do to help when he heard about Meals on Wheels and the great service they do for people in our community. He called to see what assistance he could give and they were pleased to have an extra hand. David met with some of the people that give their time every week to help out and they got him started on the process. First they get the food delivered to their facility where they begin to portion out eat meal. The meals normal consist of a vegetable, a starch, meat, a roll, and some sort of juice or milk. David began to help fill each tray and help to shrink wrap each one. The meals are split up into different routes in the county so each driver has a specific section they cover. David carefully filled each of the warmers with the appropriate amount of meals. He was then partnered up with a driver and they began their route through Lugoff, SC. David said that it was a wonderful experience to get out and meet the people in the community while also providing them with a meal and conversation.
