The Secret to a Better Community is Easier Than You Think
Getting out and spending time being involved is vital to the success of every community which is why the Cantey team always puts our efforts toward enhancing our community.
We work daily as a team to change the lives of our customers and our team members. We do so by changing the status quo of what a company can be. This includes doing all we can for the community that has continuously helped us grow and become a better company. This is why we often partner with the United Way of Kershaw County because of their extraordinary efforts to help those in need of assistance. Every year, Cantey participates in the United Way's "Day of Caring." This day is dedicated to different companies spreading out around the county doing service projects. The Cantey team was asked to help renovate a new Men's Shelter that will help men make an easier transition back into the community.
Creative Design Specialist Portia gets the team started by shaking up some cans of paint. The rest of the team started to collect all our materials. Each member of our team got a chance to paint to give this men's shelter a sense of home.
Team Members Kimberly and Brittany get started on painting some of the lower areas of the home. Both using concentration and precision to give this shelter the coat of paint it needed. Other team members began to set up ladders to reach the more difficult areas.
Owner William and CFO Mike get started on some of the more difficult areas to reach up on the ladders. Sales Manager Luke is close by in case one of them needs assistance. We worked together as a team to help each other, give painting advice, and have some fun!
Creative Design Specialist Portia works on painting the siding back to a beautiful color while watching out for dripping paint as Sales Manager Luke finally gets his chance on the ladder. Both shared some paint and laughs while achieving the perfect coat.
HR Coordinator Jena Thompson gives a hair flip in the middle of putting a coat of paint on the railing. Everyone had a brush in hand, painting the siding and the railings leading up to the back door.
Owner William gives a smile as he finishes up Portia's section of the siding. William was even able to get the hard to reach areas at the top completing the back of the house. The back yard will now be the perfect area for the men at the shelter to use.
The Cantey team comes together for a photo to celebrate finishing up the day's activities. The men's shelter looks great with a fresh coat of paint and we truly hope they feel at home.
Getting involved in your community is not a hard task and even small efforts make a huge difference. Not only did we at Cantey just like spending time together as a team but it also felt wonderful to know the service we were providing was going to make a difference for the men that will be making the shelter their home. It is a privilege for us to be able to partner with the United Way of Kershaw County on so many projects but we look forward to the Day of Caring every year as a chance to get out and get our hands dirty in the community together. We would like to thank the United Way of Kershaw County for having us be apart of this event and the other companies that participated giving our community a helping hand.
