Cantey Builds Community 2016
On Thursday (April 14th, 2016) night, the Office, Accounting, and Marketing staff of Cantey's #1 Team got together to raise funds and awareness for sexual abuse. The fundraiser was called "Walk a Mile in Their Shoes," and the girls had a fun (and difficult!) time walking down Main Street by the State House building. Over 5,000 people were there to support the great cause including the local Police Department and fraternities and sororities of the University of South Carolina.
All day on Friday (April 15th, 2016), every team member of Cantey Foundation Specialists volunteered for the Habitat for Humanity of Kershaw County. Broken up into three separate teams, each team finished different tasks such as removing and installing siding for one home and also a United Way of Kershaw County food pantry warehouse, and also building a shed, installing storm windows and shutters, and many other punch work tasks.
After we finished helping Habitat for Humanity, the Cantey #1 Team had their quarterly meeting at owner William Cantey's cabin. Sandwiches, discussions, and cornhole were just a few of the things we accomplished at the meeting.
Thank you Habitat for Humanity of Kershaw County, Walk a Mile in Their Shoes, and United Way of Kershaw County for the wonderful opportunity to volunteer in our community!
