Smartvents Installed in Charleston, SC
Challenge
Freddy R. is a homeowner in Charleston, SC who has had some issues with flooding in the past. Flood zones are areas of reoccurring flooding and can be damaging to your home and property. Because he lived in a flood zone area, his crawl space was saturated with water, wood rot, and high humidity levels. Specialist Grayson Forehand explained to customer Freddy that this is a perfect situation to install our patented CleanSpace encapsulation system. Our CleanSpace system encapsulates the entirety of Freddy's crawl space ensuring that moisture and humidity levels would drop and preserve his home from further damage. After installing a CleanSpace for Freddy, he decided that he also wanted to install our Smartvent flood technology system for further protection against the elements. Smartvents provide the right amount of protection against floods and are kept up to FEMA and NFIP standards.
Solution
Smartvents provide better protection than a normal air vent. Smartvents operate like air vents in that they let air flow through a home's crawl space, but Smartvents are controlled by the weather. When the temperature rises, the Smartvents open, and when the temperature drops, the Smartvents close. This ensures that your home is always getting the right amount of air needed without having to adjust anything. Smartvents also protect against flood damage better than air vents. Air vents can get clogged by debris but a Smartvent can open up to 3 inches to keep the flow of water equal throughout. Smartvents also act faster than typical air vents because they have a floating lift that adjusts to the level of water. In addition, Smartvents keep pesky rodents and animals out of your home where a persistent animal can chew through typical air vents. Production Team Leader Israel, Team Member Austin, and Team Member Jonathan were dispatched to Freddy's house and quickly installed 16 Smartvents. Now Freddy can rest easy knowing that his property will be protected for the next flood in his area.
